Celebrating Freedom & Culture: The Story Behind Orphic’s Juneteenth Drop

Juneteenth is more than just a date—it’s a powerful reminder of freedom, resilience, and the ongoing journey toward equality. This year, Orphic is proud to honor Juneteenth with a special mesh jersey drop designed to celebrate Black culture, history, and authentic self-expression.

Where It All Began

As a Chicago-born creative and the founder of Orphic, I’ve always believed that fashion is more than fabric—it’s a canvas for stories, identities, and movements. The inspiration behind this drop came from my own journey: the doodles I once sprayed on hoodies during high school, the roots of Orphic, and the desire to create something that stands for community and pride.

Design with Purpose

Each jersey design was carefully drawn by hand, keeping the same original, raw energy that started Orphic with my doodles. On the black jersey, you’ll notice the number 19, representing the date of Juneteenth—June 19th—and the colors are inspired by the traditional Juneteenth liberation colors: red, black, and green, symbolizing resilience, strength, and freedom.

The navy jersey takes a more neutral color approach while still incorporating the brand name and the number 19 to honor this important holiday. This option is for those who prefer a subtler, versatile style but still want to represent Orphic and the spirit of liberation.

By offering both bold and neutral choices, I want everyone to feel included in this celebration—whether you want to make a loud statement or keep it low-key, you can wear Orphic and honor Juneteenth in a way that fits your personal style.
